The Edge 2 is committed to achieving higher sound quality by incorporating a wood dome composite flexible suspension diaphragm that delivers clearer audio. This results in a 40mm dynamic driver capable of reproducing low distortion and rich sound quality, thanks to a neodymium magnet with high magnetic flux density and an ultra-light CCAW voice coil. The dynamic driver is manufactured using precise technology, ensuring it meets stringent acoustic requirements while filtering out anything less than superior performance. The investment in acoustic devices far exceeds that of standard wireless headphones, all aimed at conveying the true charm of music.
Wood Dome Composite Flexible Suspension Diaphragm
The Edge 2 features an upgraded main control chip, a higher-performance dynamic driver, and a wood microfiber diaphragm for cleaner sound. It utilizes enhanced metal materials and an improved internal structure, providing both strength and a superior aesthetic. This design builds upon the strengths of its predecessor, offering a foldable and user-friendly experience, which leads to a comprehensive enhancement in sound quality.
Independent Acoustic Cavity for More Accurate Sound Consistency
The compact design demands rigorous engineering. We determine the optimal size through repeated experiments and adjustments, creating an independent built-in acoustic cavity that isolates the acoustic environment of the dynamic driver from electronic components. This setup maximizes the acoustic performance of the dynamic driver and achieves high sound consistency.
LHDC-V High-Resolution Wireless Audio Protocol
The Edge 2 features the advanced LHDC audio transmission protocol (LHDC-V), supporting lossless audio transmission. This protocol allows for super-definition master-level audio, providing a dynamic range and frequency bandwidth that far exceed that of CDs and capturing more intricate details. LHDC-V supports advanced dynamic adaptive adjustment, automatically optimizing transmission based on signal strength, environmental interference, and equipment performance.
VDSF Target Response for Scientific Natural Timbre
VDSF Target Response is a frequency response characteristic target based on the coupling effect of human head and ears on sound, which is aimed at reproducing timbre and sound image. It has been applied in the tuning of headphones. The acoustic measurement and adjustment of Edge 2 are carried out by B&K 5128 wideband HATS with real auricle and ear canal acoustic structure and high-resolution wideband measurement capability, and tuned with reference to VDSF Target Response specially made for new equipment, so as to achieve more accurate high-resolution natural sound quality.
Adaptive Hybrid ANC with Four-Microphone Array
The Edge 2 utilizes an adaptive noise-canceling algorithm and includes Hybrid ANC, which combines two feed-forward (FF-MIC) microphones and two feed-backward (FB-MIC) microphones. It automatically detects the surrounding noise and calculates the transfer function when the earphones are worn, providing a more effective noise-canceling effect tailored to different wearing conditions. MOONDROP's approach to noise-canceling headphones focuses not on merely achieving deep noise reduction but rather on delivering a comfortable and effective noise-canceling experience across a broader range of noise. Reducing environmental noise below 1kHz by 95.5%, ANC performance is enhanced by 24.4% compared to its predecessor.
Clear Calls in Noisy Environments with NPU AI Enhancement
The Edge 2 takes advantage of its size to position two microphones sufficiently apart, enhancing beamforming for environmental noise cancellation (ENC). During calls, it captures the user's voice using this beamforming technique while blocking noise from other directions. The built-in NPU runs AI algorithms to further filter out background noise, ensuring clear call quality even in loud settings.
Natural Comfortable Transparent Transmission Mode
Users can switch to Transparent Mode using the noise-canceling mode button. This mode utilizes four microphones to deliver clear sound from the outside, allowing for comfortable conversation while maintaining awareness of the surroundings.
Auto Pause Feature with Capacitive Wear Detection
The Edge 2 is equipped with a capacitive wear detection function. When the user removes the earphones, the noise-canceling feature automatically turns off, and the music pauses. Once the earphones are put back on, the noise-canceling function and music playback resume.
Support for USB Wired Connection with Near-Zero Latency Mode
The Edge 2 supports the standard UAC protocol. Users can connect the headphones to a mobile phone, computer, or laptop that supports UAC using a USB cable. This allows for a listening experience without transmission latency and preserves battery life. With its hybrid noise-canceling microphone, the Edge 2 is particularly well-suited for demanding e-sports games.
Large Onboard Antenna for Long-Distance Audio Transmission
The Edge 2 features an enhanced RF performance based on the previous generation, thanks to its large-sized onboard antenna. This design improves connection distance and interference resistance, enhancing high-resolution audio transmission performance. As a result, the headphones are more stable even in complex environments.
MOONDROP APP with Richer Customization Features
The new MOONDROP app features a simple interface, faster response times, and more comprehensive functions. Users can customize touch operations based on their preferences; the app also includes a professional tuning interface and a shared community, opening up endless possibilities for sound quality enhancement. Additionally, the newly added Sound Target ID function offers a fresh experience in personalized sound quality.
Professional DSP with Graphic Interface
Through the MOONDROP APP, users can customize and tune the parameterized equalizer in the Edge 2's DSP using a new professional tuning interface that is more precise and user-friendly. This interface allows adjustments to parameters such as filter type, frequency point, gain, and Q value. Additionally, an original frequency response is available for reference during the tuning process, further enhancing usability and accuracy.
Built-in Tune Sharing and Downloading Community
Users can upload their own tuning configurations and share them with others, or download tuning optimizations created by fellow users, which can then be applied to the hardware of earbuds. The built-in tuning sharing and downloading community enables both professionals and music enthusiasts to leverage advanced online interactive DSP features. This allows users to adjust the tuning freely, enhancing the advanced playability.
50 Hours of Ultra-Long Battery Life
The Edge 2 features a built-in large-capacity battery that supports up to 50 hours of continuous music playback with ANC turned on.
