Dual ES9039Q2M DAC Architecture
The TRI TK-3 is built around a dual ESS ES9039Q2M DAC configuration, a chipset capable of native 32-bit/768kHz PCM and DSD512 decoding. This architecture provides a maximum dynamic range of up to 130dB, ensuring that both the quietest passages and the most explosive crescendos are rendered with consistent clarity and control.
High-Definition Bluetooth Technology
Wireless performance is anchored by a Qualcomm QCC Bluetooth 5.4 chipset, offering broad compatibility with high-resolution audio codecs. The TRI TK-3 supports LDAC, LHDC, aptX -Lossless, aptX- Adaptive, aptX-HD, aptX-LL, AAC, SBC, and LC3, making it adaptable to virtually any modern source device without compromising on transmission quality.
Femtosecond Crystal Oscillator
Clock precision plays a critical role in digital-to-analog conversion. The TRI TK-3 employs a Femtosecond Crystal Oscillator to supply the DAC stage with an exceptionally stable timing reference. The result is a noticeably reduced noise floor, allowing subtle spatial cues and fine instrumental textures to emerge from a quieter background.
Dual-Mode Functionality
Designed for flexible use, the TRI TK-3 operates as both a USB DAC and a standalone Bluetooth Receiver. In wired mode, it connects driver-free to Windows 10 and above, macOS, iOS, and Android devices. Switching to Bluetooth Receiver mode untethers the listening experience while maintaining access to the full suite of supported codecs. This dual-mode design ensures the device fits seamlessly into desktop, portable, and bedside setups.
Output Power and Headphone Compatibility
Amplification duties are handled with ample headroom. The TRI TK-3 delivers up to 1200mW (L+R) into a 32Ω load, with a maximum output swing of 10V. It comfortably drives headphones ranging from sensitive in-ear monitors to full-size dynamic and planar models with impedance from 6Ω to 600Ω. Both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced outputs are provided for broad connectivity.
Battery Life and Charging
The TRI TK-3 houses a 5000mAh internal battery, supporting extended listening without frequent recharging. A three-color LED provides clear status indication: white for 70%–100%, purple for 35%–70%, and red for 1%–35%. The device supports 18W USB fast charging and features bypass charging, allowing simultaneous use and power delivery without taxing the battery.
ADC Volume Control and BASS Switch
Volume is adjusted via an ADC precision knob control system, which maintains accurate channel balance across the entire range and avoids the wear issues associated with traditional analog potentiometers. A dedicated BASS Switch offers a selectable low-frequency boost. Set to ON, it adds weight and impact to the low end; set to BYPASS, the audio signal remains entirely unaltered.
